Report: Eric Bledsoe has torn meniscus, needs surgery
According to a report, Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe has a torn meniscus that will require surgery.
When Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe initially hurt his knee against the Philadelphia 76ers, it looked like it was just going to be a sprain according to the team doctors. Well the MRI that Bledsoe has taken on his knee after going down with the injury has shown otherwise.
According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Bledsoe has a torn meniscus that will require surgery on his left knee. The surgery will reportedly sideline Bledsoe for at least six weeks.
"After an MRI on Sunday revealed a torn meniscus, guard Eric Bledsoe is expected to miss approximately six weeks, league sources told Yahoo Sports. The Suns said Bledsoe will undergo surgery to repair the meniscus on Tuesday."
Bledsoe had suffered from knee injuries prior to the newest injuries, but the meniscus he had removed back in the 2013-2014 season occurred in the other knee.
For the Suns, it’s a huge blow for the team. They were in a nosedive and it looks like they’re about to blow things up with the roster and the coaching staff, but Bledsoe had been one of the bright spots.
His game as a point guard took a big step forward in 2015, with Bledsoe’s ability to score improving and his defense becoming more tenacious then ever. He was learning to fill all phases of the stat sheet at the point guard spot.
Now the Suns won’t have him for at the earliest, after the All-Star Break. By then the season could be so far gone, resting Bledsoe might be their best bet.
