Nevada Wolf Pack vs Colorado State Rams

A pair of Mountain West foes will square off in the inaugural Arizona Bowl when the Nevada Wolf Pack take on the Colorado State Rams on Tuesday evening at Arizona Stadium.

Nevada will be searching for its first bowl win since 2010 in a rare postseason matchup between teams in the same conference. The Wolf Pack finished at 6-6 after dropping their final two games of the regular season and will look to reach the seven-win plateau for the fourth time in five years.

The Wolf Pack relied on a strong run game all season long to reach the .500 mark once again. Both James Butler and Don Haskins topped the 1,000-yard mark on the ground, and figure to be the focal point of the offense on Tuesday.

Colorado State managed to reach a bowl game in the first year of the Mike Bobo era after Jim McElwain left for Florida. The Rams struggled at the beginning of the season, but four straight wins to close out the year ensured Colorado State finished the year at 7-5.

A balanced offense should help the Rams put up some points against the Nevada defense. Rashard Higgins didn’t post the same gaudy totals as a year ago, but remains one of the most dangerous receivers in the nation.
