Houston Texans

Grade: B

What went right: They never stopped believing at 2-5, and this without having a clear quarterback at the top. The Texans looked like a team that was destined to go 5-11 and finish with a top-10 pick in the upcoming draft, Instead, this group fought back and took down the AFC South. The defense has been good, led by superstar J.J. Watt. On offense, the only huge weapon has been receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who earned a Pro Bowl nod.

What went wrong: The offense has really struggled at times for a few reasons. First, the Texans have been without Arian Foster for most of the year, leading to a lackluster rushing attack. With a revolving door at quarterback that has included T.J. Yates, Brian Hoyer, Brandon Weeden and Ryan Mallett, Houston has not been able to get a ton of consistency and chemistry, holding the team back considerably.

Offseason expectations: Houston has to make sure that the offense gets some serious attention. The Texans have Hopkins on the outside but not much else, unless you are really excited about Nate Washington and Cecil Shorts III. Also, the quarterback position needs to be fixed. Will the front office take a quarterback in the first round? If a good prospect is there, one would imagine it is a main target.
