Philadelphia Eagles

Grade: F

What went right: The defensive line was very solid, led by Fletcher Cox and Bennie Logan. That duo is one of the more powerful in the NFL and showed its might on a weekly basis, combining for 10.5 sacks, 9.5 coming from the terrific Cox. The front seven also has some other players to build around with the likes of Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham.

What went wrong: The Eagles are the most disappointing team in the league, from the standpoint that the injuries were minimal and the talent simply could not get the job done. Philadelphia was supposed to be explosive with head coach Chip Kelly finally having the quarterback he wanted in Sam Bradford, but it did not work out to say the least. Bradford was never able to get going and the defense was a total sieve.

Offseason expectations: It’s hard to say what this team is going to do, if only because Kelly is highly unpredictable. The Eagles might want to move on from Kelly, who jettisoned some of the best players in the league and watched his moves fall flat. Philadelphia also had a horrible time in free agency last year, signing DeMarco Murray and Byron Maxwell to huge deals. Both were a major flop.
