53.
Another draft, another quarterback search in Cleveland. I don’t know if someone made a deal with the devil or something, but this franchise for some reason just can not get anything right. Whether it’s drafting a quarterback, or heck any position at this point, they just can’t seem to hit the nail on the head.

A couple weeks ago I was a big proponent of Johnny Manziel getting a full season and have the opportunity to prove himself. While I still don’t feel good about throwing away a first round pick this early, the experiment clearly hasn’t worked. In all likelihood, we’ll see Johnny Football climb aboard the Jerry Jones circus train to Dallas and be mentored by Tony Romo. Now for Cleveland to move forward, they must take a quarterback here and get it right this time.

Last week I went back and carefully examined the game tape for Paxton Lynch and Jared Goff in order to begin my quarterback big board. At the end of the day, Jared Goff took a slight edge over Paxton Lynch as my number one quarterback in this year’s draft. Not only did Goff play against much better opponents in the PAC-12, he performed just as well and showed a much more completed skill set.

For now, Goff is my number one quarterback in the 2016 draft and the Browns selection.

Previous Pick: Paxton Lynch, QB
. Quarterback. Cal. Jared Goff. 2. player
