The Baltimore Ravens are one of those teams you thought would be drafting higher. Injuries crippled this team throughout the year, from draft day to this week. First-round pick Breshad Perriman may never see the field due to a knee injury. Terrell Suggs, Steve Smith Sr., and Joe Flacco are all out for the year after suffering major lower body injuries.

When you take away that many playmakers, nothing good will ever come about. Baltimore focuses on their secondary this in this years draft, as they are one of the worst ranked pass defense in the NFL. While they did lose several players to injury and suspension this year, drafting a defensive back in the top-10 is a major upgrade that was needed even prior to those injuries and suspensions.

By drafting Jalen Ramsey, the Baltimore Ravens return to having an emphasis on defense. Ramsey is a punishing defensive back who has great versatility and football instincts. Baltimore can start him at cornerback or safety and he will flourish immediately. He reminds me a lot of Brian Dawkins with his hard (yet legal) hits, long range, and shutdown ability in the secondary.

He also brings Baltimore great size for the position, which is needed when you have playmakers such as AJ Green and Antonio Brown in your division.
