The Navy Midshipmen defeated the Pittsburgh Panthers behind a strong day from quarterback Keenan Reynolds.

The Navy Midshipmen put together a clinic on how to run the football against the Pittsburgh Panthers in the 2015 Military Bowl. Navy ran all day on the Panthers behind their leader, Keenan Reynolds, and the Panthers just had no answer for them defensively. The Panthers had an incredible 400+ yards on the ground, and it all started with Reynolds.

It was another record-setting day for Reynolds, as he set the record for most career rushing yards by a quarterback in college football. All day long, Reynolds carried the Midshipmen with his legs and his arm, as he also had a passing touchdown.

The Panthers got on the board first in the game, when Quadree Henderson returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. Despite the big momentum to start, Navy didn’t let that get to them and answered nicely in return.

The Midshipmen would answer that kickoff return with 31 unanswered points to take a 31-7 lead. Reynolds was key on the 31-point surge, as he had two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown to Tyler Carmona.

With Navy running wild, the Panthers had a chance to roll over and call it a game, but they fought their way back into it. Nathan Peterman found Qadree Ollison for a four-yard touchdown pass. That was followed by Pittsburgh’s Jordan Whitehead returning a fumble 22 yards for a touchdown, and suddenly the 31-7 deficit became 31-21.

The Midshipmen would cut off the rally from there, as Toneo Gulley busted through for a 15-yard score. The Panthers would answer with a touchdown of their own, but Reynolds would put the final nail in the coffin late, as he scored on his third rushing touchdown of the day, to make it 44-28.

The Navy defense would pick off the Panthers on the next possession, which sent Reynolds and the Midshipmen out as the 2015 Military Bowl winners.
