Report: Paris St-Germain after Pep Guardiola
According to English outlet, The Mirror, Paris St-Germain are in heavy pursuit of Pep Guardiola.
It is no surprise that Pep Guardiola remains one of the most sought after managers in all of world football. After declaring that the current campaign would be his last with Bayern Munich, rumors have begun to spread across the globe as to what his next project will be.
On Monday, The Mirror in England reported that the Spaniard has been in negotiations with Paris St-Germain. However, his agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, denied the claims to French outlet, L’Equipe, suggesting he has never spoken to the president of the French club.
"“I have never spoken to the president of PSG, not recently or at any time in the past. I have had contact with his sporting director [Olivier Letang], but that was to speak about one of my players. We have never discussed Pep’s situation and PSG have not asked me anything about his plans.”"
Most believe that Guardiola is destined to end up in the Premier League next season. with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, or Manchester United, all linked with the former Barcelona boss. The 44-year-old has never coached in England, and most believe that he wants a new adventure. His agent also confirmed that the English top flight is a real possibility, but refused to rule out other potential moves.
"“He hasn’t said anything to me. In any case, it’s not something that we are considering at the moment. The Premier League is a big possibility. Pep will make a decision in two or three months’ time. Everything remains a possibility, including a sabbatical year.”"
Guardiola is in his third season with the Bavarian giants, and is well on the way to winning the league for the third consecutive year. After 17 matches, they have a comfortable eight-point lead atop the Bundesliga table, and they also topped their UEFA Champions League group. They won’t be back in action until after the winter break, when they take on Hamburger SV on January 22nd.
