Who are the 30 most entertaining NHL players of all-time?

Hockey is known for being an extremely entertaining sport. It has the physicality and speed of football without the breaks. It is basically soccer if soccer was played on a much smaller field and players had to skate instead of run. When one thinks about entertaining things in the NHL, goal scoring immediately comes to mind. There are far more things that make the NHL the most exciting of all of the professional sports leagues.

The criteria for this list is quite extensive because it’s hard to quantify entertainment. Here are the factors that were considered when compiling this ultimate ranking.

  • Goals. There’s a reason that the league’s leading goal scorer gets an award and the league’s leader in assists doesn’t. Hockey fans love goals.
  • Speed/Skill. The only thing that might be more entertaining in hockey than scoring goals? Putting on a clinic on the ice and making your opponents look silly.
  • How much fun it was to watch each player.
  • Personality. You can’t be entertaining without having a great personality!

All of the quotes, unless specified otherwise, come from Hockey’s Greatest from the Sports Illustrated staff. You can buy it on Amazon here and I highly recommend it for anyone who loves hockey.
