4. Cleveland Browns

It may sound like a broken record, but the Cleveland Browns had a downright awful year. Overall, they had a merry go round at the quarterback position. Johnny Manziel was given opportunities to play despite his off the field issues. He looked good at times, but the Browns are such a dumpster fire that they need to start from the beginning and that includes bringing in an NFL-ready quarterback.

Manziel is NFL-ready skill wise, but on the maturity scale he is failing. He says he’s a different person than his days at Texas A&M, but his latest Christmas video of him and his friend may say otherwise. It’s time to move on from Johnny Football in the offseason and let him find a new team to play for.

The Browns can secure the second overall pick with a loss, and if the Titans were to miraculously win, Cleveland would slide up to the top spot. With either the first or second overall pick, they could nab the first quarterback of the draft – be it Paxton Lynch, Jared Goff or Connor Cook.

Granted, the Browns have more needs than just at quarterback. They also could use a receiving threat, but the NFL is the league of the quarterback. Without a well-groomed passer, teams are destined to fail. Cleveland should draft quarterback first and then fill in their options from there as the drop off for quarterback options is much greater than at other positions in the draft as the rounds tick by.
