1. Dallas Cowboys

Their season went downhill fast after Tony Romo went down with a clavicle injury. In his absence it expedited the team’s need to draft a quarterback, who may not start in 2016 but who could be a viable back up in case of emergency.

Likewise, Romo’s time on the Dallas Cowboys will end at some point whether due to his injury risk or age or a combination of both. Now is the time for the Cowboys to groom his predecessor and allow Romo to mentor his apparent heir to the throne.

A loss in Week 17 would guarantee that the Cowboys draft in the top-five and end up as high as the third overall draft pick. On the other hand, a loss could see Dallas fall outside the top-five and as low as eighth. For a team with quite a few holes to plug, that five-pick swing can make a world of difference.

While they may not take a quarterback in the first round, they could select a running back to fill the hole left by DeMarco Murray, who went to the Eagles for more money and less playing time under Chip Kelly. Along with the quarterback position, running back was a revolving door filled with turmoil for the Cowboys.
