124.
Derrick Johnson has been a masterful player for the Kansas City Chiefs, even during their down periods of the past decade. A three-time Pro Bowler, he’s had another great season that was critical in helping his team make the playoffs. In terms of tackling, blitzing and coverage there really isn’t a whole lot he can’t do.

That being said, it’s important to remember that Johnson is 33 years old, a dangerous age for players at such a physical position. Throw in the fact that the Chiefs really have nobody else at inside linebacker even close to his skill level and it’s strong grounds for the team to make a significant short and long-term investment there to make sure there is no drop-off if and when he’s done.

Typically this isn’t the type of situation or draft position to take risks. Often the best choice is one that is proven and has the highest chance of reasonable success. Reggie Ragland represents that sort of player. A high floor prospect who is already a physical and instinctive tackler who plays a downhill style. He’s proven against the run and while not a premier athlete, has shown enough to function in coverage.
. ILB. Alabama. Reggie Ragland. 25. player
