Alabama. Derrick Henry. 28. player. 123.
Where did things go wrong for the Dallas Cowboys? There are a number of answers but most of them will probably start with the injury to Tony Romo. That’s fair. He’s the quarterback and the team was undefeated before he went down. At the same time, some problems can be traced back to free agency in March.

That was when running back DeMarco Murray chose to leave Dallas for Philadelphia, a move that was mutually destructive for both sides. The Cowboys rushing attack, though still effective at times, couldn’t control games like it did a year ago with guys like Darren McFadden carrying the ball. If they had Murray, could they have stayed afloat long enough for Romo to return healthy?

It’s a question they need to make sure they can answer next time. That is why they jump back into the first round to grab Heisman winner Derrick Henry. He’s a big, bruising back from Alabama who can handle heavy loads of carries, runs with power, and wears defenses out the later a game gets. Behind that offensive line in a scheme that fits his style, it’s an easy sell.
. RB
