4. Andy Reid
The Philadelphia Eagles have mostly been a disaster in the Super Bowl era. People act like this is one of the great franchises, when really it has been nothing short of a dumpster fire for the better part of the last 65 years. Sure, it had a nice few seasons and even a Super Bowl appearance when Dick Vermeil was there, but then the Eagles went back into the tank until Andy Reid arrived.
Hired to take over a brutal, talentless roster in 1999, Reid immediately turned the team around. Philadelphia reached the Super Bowl in 2004 and enjoyed five NFC title game appearances under Reid during his tenure, which ended following the 2012 season. All the clowns in Philadelphia wanted Reid fired and got their wish following an injury-filled 4-12 season, and then the team hired Chip Kelly.
Fast forward to today, and it’s a mess. Kelly was fired this week after making the playoffs once in three years while running off almost every talented player on the team. Meanwhile, Reid went to coach the previously 2-14 Kansas City Chiefs and has reached the playoffs two our of three campaigns, with the other being a 9-7 mark.
By the way, just to drive home the point about how much the Eagles have stunk since their last championship in 1960 … before Reid showed up, the Eagles reached the conference championship game once since that title.
