Losing Malik Zaire to begin the season was a bad sign for Notre Dame. It looked like everything was doomed from that point on, but DeShone Kizer has come on to be a quality starter at quarterback and he has led the Irish to the Fiesta Bowl with the help of a solid defense, C.J. Prosise and Will Fuller.
Notre Dame could take this one and there would be a real quarterback controversy to start the 2016 season. However, the Fighting Irish will have to go through the defending national champs first.
Ohio State is losing three guys early to the NFL Draft. Ezekiel Elliott, Cardale Jones and Joey Bosa will all be playing in their first games in a Buckeyes uniform, making this Fiesta Bowl all the more important. If Ohio State wins this one, the Buckeyes will send the senior class out with 50 wins, a truly incredible number.
