Who are the favorites and underdogs to bring home some of the NHL’s awards entering 2016?

With the first three months of the National Hockey League done, 2015 is in the rearview mirror and 2016 has quickly come upon us. As football nears the end of its regular season, the NHL is prepared to have the attention of sports fans everywhere. Whether you like non-stop scoring, jaw-dropping defensive plays or highlight reel saves, the 2015-2016 NHL season has something for all sports fans to appreciate.

Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators is having a historic season as a defenseman and is on pace to do something that the NHL hasn’t seen in 30 years. Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks has dazzled his way to a historic point streak and has risen to the occasion countless times for the Blackhawks. Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals is on pace to better Carey Price’s historically great numbers from last season and on pace to challenge an impressive NHL record.

Here’s a look at the 2016 NHL awards favorites and underdogs for the Hart Trophy, Norris Trophy, Vezina Trophy, Selke Trophy, and Calder Trophy. Some awards are more competitive than others. These choices reflect who is the most likely to win each award, not who should win each award.
