Miami Dolphins have fired general manager Dennis Hickey after a disappointing season.

The Miami Dolphins have had one of the most disappointing seasons in all of the NFL. Like the San Diego Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens, the Dolphins had hopes of challenging for the a playoff berth before the start of the season.

Unlike the Ravens and Chargers, the Dolphins can’t blame injuries for their horrific form throughout the year. Rather, a combination of poor coaching and poor execution has led to the Dolphins slipping to a 5-10 record and last place in the AFC East.

Joe Philbin already took the flack for the poor coaching, after only four games through the season. Well, now the under performance of some of their star players has led to Dennis Hickey losing his job, and in all honesty, it isn’t a move that wasn’t expected. Hickey made some major moves in the off season, the biggest of which involved bringing the biggest free agent name on the market, Ndamukong Suh, to Miami in a massive deal.

Unfortunately for Hickey, Suh has simply not lived up to his billing, and his high profile failures perhaps illustrates the issues that the Dolphins have faced all season long. With Dan Campbell currently in charge of the franchise until the end of the season, the search for a new head coach will culminate in the next month or so.

Well, now the Dolphins can add a general manager hunt to their list of jobs. It is no surprise that Hickey is gone. Now we all have to wait to see who his replacement will be.
