Former Washington Redskins star Dexter Manley said some really idiotic things about the mobility of black quarterbacks
Dexter Manley was a standout defensive end for the Washington Redskins in his playing days. However, his post-playing days as a member of the media have been a bit more troublesome. On Saturday, though, Manley made his most idiotic comments to date while discussing the mobility of black quarterbacks.
Manley was talking football on CBS affiliate WUSA on Saturday when he got on the subject of black quarterbacks. Because who knows why, this led to him making an incredibly stupid comment that black quarterbacks like to be mobile because they are “used to running from the law.” The moment was as uncomfortable and as awkward as you’d expect:
What in the hell would ever inspire a human being to say that? I’m pretty sure that the reaction of Manley’s co-host, who shakes his head and looks like he can’t get out of the situation quick enough, says just about everything that needs to be said about Manley’s comments.
Manley was once removed from a radio gig for offensive comments and you’d have to guess that’s a path that he’s about to head down again with WUSA. If this is the type of thing he says as a media personality, though, I don’t think anyone with half a brain is going to miss his input.
