Kansas State Wildcats vs Arkansas Razorbacks
The 2016 Liberty Bowl will feature a Big 12-SEC clash when the Kansas State Wildcats meet the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday afternoon at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
After a 3-0 nonconference slate, Kansas State lost its first six games of Big 12 play, in large part due to injuries piling up all over the field. The Wildcats were able to rally and put together a three-game win streak to end the season and reach bowl eligibility at 6-6.
Kansas State figures to split snaps at quarterback between Joe Hubener and Kody Cook. Cook has been effective when he’s played and helped the Wildcats come from behind to beat West Virginia in the season finale.
Arkansas entered the season with high expectations but struggled out of the gate and ended up at 7-5. However, the Razorbacks played very well down the stretch by winning five out of six, and will hope to build momentum for a critical 2016 season with a bowl victory.
Alex Collins was one of the most productive backs in the SEC during the nation behind Arkansas’ physical offensive line. Quarterback Brandon Allen quietly turned in an excellent season as well to lead a very efficient Razorbacks offense.
