Kawhi Leonard weaves his way for open dunk (Video)
By Phil Naegely
Kawhi Leonard dribbled past his defenders and slammed it home for a wide-open dunk.
The San Antonio Spurs took on the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Kawhi Leonard put the team on his back as he tried to get them back into the lead. After bringing the ball in, it didn’t take long for the Spurs to find Leonard and develop a play within a court filled with traffic.
Leonard followed his teammate’s screen, wound his way through traffic and went up uncontested to the rim. It was a sick display of individualism that cut the deficit to three after it looked he was going to pull back for the deep, two-point shot attempt
Next time opponents guard Leonard they better watch out for his weave and dunk move. If they don’t he will be able to walk in the ball to the net and slam it up without any defender in the vicinity. The Spurs will need more of those moments if they want to beat the Rockets on Saturday.
However, even if they do lose, Leonard’s dribble, dodge, weave, and dunk move will be one of the top plays of the NBA on Saturday Night. It would be wise of Leonard to make finding more open dunks as a New Year’s resolution in 2016.
