Northwestern and Maryland combined for one of the craziest defensive sequences, but the Wildcats ended the run of plays with a unique basket

It’s something that basketball fans won’t see often, but Northwestern and Maryland participated in one of the craziest sequences known to man in college basketball. The sequence of plays was capped off by a unique basket by the Wildcats.

Northwestern would go on to lose the game against No. 4 Maryland, but they held with their opponents to zero points for a few plays. Some great defense from both teams led to one of the craziest and unique plays. It only ended because the Wildcats had the offensive advantage, a hook shot somehow found the basket, and Maryland was ready to run a non-fast break play.

The Wildcats haven’t been known to be a good basketball team. However, if they can carry out more defensive schemes like this crazy play, then Northwestern could be in business when March Madness arrives in a little more than two months.

Yet, that is highly unlikely, but the team entertained their fans for a portion of the game. They will long remember this great defensive sequence and hook shot for the score when their team pile up the losses in conference play in short time.
