Penn State Nittany Lions vs Georgia Bulldogs
Two stout defenses will meet in the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl when the Penn State Nittany Lions take on the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at EverBank Field.
Penn State quietly got off to a 7-2 start before dropping its last three games against good competition in the Big Ten. Without any signature wins, the Nittany Lions really need something to build on heading into year three of the James Franklin era.
The Nittany Lions will get terrific pass rusher Carl Nassib back rusher back to pair with Austin Johnson and make a formidable defensive line unit. Saquon Barkley has emerged as one of the best freshman running backs in the country and will try to lead a struggling Penn State offense.
Georgia, disappointing as a whole this season, fired its head coach but still managed to scratch out wins. The Bulldogs will attempt to pick up an important bowl win to start the post-Mark Richt era.
A pair of outstanding edge rushers in Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins will attempt to take advantage of a weak Penn State offensive line. With running back Nick Chubb sidelined, the Bulldogs have turned to backup Sony Michel to move the ball for much of the season.
