TCU completed an unprecedented comeback to beat Oregon in the Alamo and Twitter users had thoughts
It looked like the Oregon Ducks were going to be able to flip on the cruise control in the second half of the 2016 Alamo Bowl against the TCU Horned Frogs. After the first two quarters of play, the Ducks were up 31-0 over the Horned Frogs and the Alamo seemed like it was all but over—it wasn’t.
With Oregon starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. suffering an injury and being forced out of action for the remainder of the game, TCU and Bram Kohlhausen fought valiantly to complete an incredible comeback to tie the game at 31-31 with less than a minutes left in the game and ultimately force overtime. Both teams scored a touchdown in the first overtime and then matched field goals in the second overtime.
TCU opened up the third overtime by scoring a touchdown, but failing to convert on the two-point conversion. That left the door open a bit for Oregon, but they couldn’t convert as they failed to do much of anything with their possession and ultimately lost the Alamo Bowl by a score of 47-41.
With how insane the Alamo Bowl got, with TCU’s comeback, and with Oregon choking, Twitter obviously had things to say on the matter and the opinions and jokes came in like a flood:
I think everyone can agree with that last Tweet. Let’s collectively all pull a TCU with our lives in 2016!
