Chicago Bulls vs Toronto Raptors

The Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors will be facing off on Sunday afternoon in a matchup of two teams chasing down the first-place Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference. Just a half-game behind the Raptors, a Bulls win would essentially flip their standings in the East.

Chicago has been solid this season under new head coach Fred Hoiberg, winning three straight games after a mini slump and sitting at 19-12 and in fourth place in the conference. Even with Derrick Rose still trying to get his groove back, the Bulls have been one of the toughest teams in the league.

Jimmy Butler has taken over the top-scoring role, leading the team with 21.1 points per game while Pau Gasol is averaging a double-double — 16.3 points and 10.6 assists.

Toronto is one of the up-and-coming teams in the NBA which the future is extremely bright for, just like Chicago. Keeping Kyle Lowry this offseason was huge for the Raptors and his return has paid big dividends as he’s averaging 20.6, 6.3 assists and 4.9 rebounds.

DeMar DeRozan leads the team in scoring, however, with 22.9 points, but his sub-30 percent three-point shooting needs some major tweaking. This contest is sure to be a down-to-the-wire matchup and it won’t be the end of their battle for first place.
