The Pittsburgh Steelers were fighting for their playoff lives in Week 17 but ended up losing DeAngelo Williams in the process.

The Pittsburgh Steelers needed a win in the final week of the season to make the playoffs, but they ended up losing a very big piece of their offense in the process.

Le’Veon Bell was already lost for the season earlier in the year and Ben Roethlisberger was lost at different times as well but the hits didn’t stop coming. In the first half of the Steelers game against the Browns, DeAngelo Williams was carted off the field when his ankle was badly rolled up on.

It looked like a bad injury when it happened and it was something that made Steelers fans everywhere hold their breath.

The Steelers needed help in the final week of the season to make the playoffs but losing Williams might be the  final nail in the coffin for Pittsburgh. Without their running game, the Steelers are as depleted as they can be and still be competitive — which is an issue moving forward.

That’s not to say they won’t be competitive if they make the postseason, but the loss of Williams — if it’s serious — might be something that nails the Steelerls season shut for good.
