Josh Freeman, the fourth quarterback to start a game for the Indianapolis Colts this season, completes a 57-yard touchdown pass to tight end Coby Fleener.

The Indianapolis Colts need a miracle to win the AFC South away from the division-leading Houston Texans in Week 17. The Colts will need to beat the Tennessee Titans and 10 other games to go their way to end up winning the AFC South for the third straight season.

The Colts are down to their fourth starting quarterback, former first-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Josh Freeman. Freeman after throwing a terrible interception deep in Colts’ territory rebounds and throws a 57-yard touchdown to tight end Coby Fleener to give the Colts a 10-7 lead over the rival Titans following the point after attempt.

Freeman came into the league out of Kansas State as a first round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft to become the Buccaneers’ franchise quarterback. After four lackluster years in Tampa Bay, Freeman left the Buccaneers and had spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and the Miami Dolphins.

Freeman drops back and does some sort of pump fake to the try to get the Titans’ front seven to bite. It works marvelously as Fleener had only one man to beat in the Titans’ secondary for the easy touchdown receptions.

That play emphasized both Freeman’s still strong arm and Fleener’s quick wheels for a tight end. Should Freeman continue to play with that kind of poise in the pocket, the Colts may have themselves an almost improbable shot of making the AFC Playoffs. Now winning a playoff game with Freeman under center may be asking much out this Colts team.
