Detroit Lions 2016 schedule.

The Detroit Lions are hoping to make the playoffs in 2016 after missing them in 2015. After going 11-5 last year and narrowly losing in the NFC Wild Card round to the Dallas Cowboys, most believed Detroit would fight with the Green Bay Packers for the NFC North title. Instead, the Lions began the season having an absolutely miserable offense and never recovered, finishing with a limp.

Detroit might be looking to change the culture of the franchise. After having more than a decade of great play from wide receiver Calvin Johnson, his cap number might force the front office to let him go into the free-agent market. The Lions could decide to make some moves to bolster the defensive side of the ball, especially in the secondary where they were routinely beaten. Here’s who the Lions hope to beat in 2016:

The home slate is not the hardest to navigate. Detroit should be able to rack up some wins across the board, especially against very weak AFC South teams. Detroit is the kind of team that can dominate with a nice compliment of weapons offensively, led by Matthew Stafford and Golden Tate. If the defense could every catch up to the play of the offense, this would be dangerous.
