Manchester United continue their pursuit of Lazio’s Felipe Anderson.

Manchester United managed to break out of a recent slump on Saturday when they defeated Swansea City 2-1 at Old Trafford. The Red Devils hadn’t won a single game in any competition in throughout the entire month of December, and knew they needed to kick 2016 off with a bang.

While Louis van Gaal’s side were finally able to pull off a victory, they are still far from where they need to be in order to meet the expectations of the fans or the club. They remain outside the top four in the Premier League table, and have already been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.

January will be an opportunity for the club to bring in some talent though, and it looks as if the club have their eyes firmly set on Lazio’s Felipe Anderson. There have been reports for the past several weeks that Manchester United are interested in the impressive Brazilian, but the Italian outfit will not let the player go cheap.

Conflicting stories continue to emerge out of Italy and England, with the Italian press suggesting that the Red Devils’ offer for the player falls far short of what Lazio are asking for. However, English media outlets such as The Sun claim a deal worth £30 million plus an additional £5 million in bonuses is nearly done.

Manchester United supporters have already expressed their excitement about the potential arrival of the talented youngster, by posting highlight package videos of Anderson on various social media sites.

The 22-year-old arrived in Italy from Bazilian club, Santos, during the summer of 2013, and has been stellar ever since making the move to the Italian top flight. He has four goals and one assist in 17 leagues matches with the Eagles this season.
