Matt Barkley is the latest Arizona Cardinals quarterback challenge and served his punishment before the team’s Week 17 game.
All year round the Arizona Cardinals quarterbacks have taken part in the quarterback challenge. Matt Barkley was the Week 17 quarterback challenge loser and served his punishment before Sunday’s game.

After running down the tunnel, Barkley had to parade on the field before running back to the locker room.
Lookin' good, Matt. #SEAvsAZ https://t.co/8XDvU7l5M6

Barkley didn’t have too bad of a punishment for his loss. He had to run onto the field in only shoes, underwear, and an unbuttoned coat. It would have been worse if he had to do it somewhere that has a actual winter-like climate with sub-freezing temperatures.
Instead the quarterback went for a pre-game jog and showed the world he lost the latest quarterback challenge. Yet, there weren’t many, if any, fans in the stadium and he wasn’t embarrassed too much.
While this punishment was kind of lame, there has been some great ones throughout the Cardinals season. It will be interesting to see if this will continue into the playoffs and if the punishments will be raised after the Week 17 punishment was rather lame and toned down.
Barkley should be happy he lost this weekend as the season’s past losers from week to week had worse punishments for losing the Cardinals quarterback challenge.
