DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- January 4
High Salary W
Vladimir Tarasenko-St. Louis Blues ($7,800): Tarasenko is the most expensive winger tonight and has the second-highest average of fantasy points per game with 4.6. The young Russian has quickly turned into one of the best wingers in the NHL. He scored a goal in his last game on Saturday and is now tied for second in the league with 23 goals. He’s got 40 total points in 39 games and is a good threat to find the scoresheet each night he’s on the ice. Ottawa is ranked 25th against right wingers, making Tarasenko the best high-priced option at winger.
Taylor Hall-Edmonton Oilers ($7,600): Hall is the winger tonight with the highest average of fantasy points per game with 4.9. He’s got 16 goals and 25 assists through 40 games and lit the lamp his last time out on Saturday. Hall is fourth in the league in points and part of a strong group of young players in Edmonton. Tonight he’ll get a very favorable matchup with Carolina, a team ranked 19th against left wingers.
High Value W
Tyler Toffoli-LA Kings ($5,800): Toffoli has turned into a great offensive weapon for the Kings with 18 goals and 12 assists this season. He’s been playing on the top line with Anze Kopitar and has really benefited lately. Toffoli has put up 10 points in his last nine games and is now averaging 3.6 fantasy points a game. He gets a good match with Colorado tonight.
Dwight King-LA Kings ($3,300): King likely won’t keep up his current rate of production but it’s worth taking a chance on him while his salary is extremely low. He was dealing with a foot injury and just made his season debut on December 29. He’s got three points in three games with two of those points being goals. He found the back of the net Saturday against Philadelphia and will look to stay hot tonight in Colorado. Ride King while he’s putting up great numbers.
Jeff Skinner-Carolina Hurricanes ($4,600): Skinner is one of the most streaky players in the NHL. He was on fire during the month of December, especially at the beginning of the month. He will go through stretches where he won’t register a point, but when he does start scoring, it comes in bunches. At one point in December he had two hat tricks in three games. He has a two-game point streak and four points in his last four games. Skinner seems to be on one of his hot streaks now so take full advantage.
