Philadelphia 76ers reportedly sign Elton Brand

The Philadelphia 76ers trolled themselves by reportedly singing veteran Elton Brand.
It’s been another rough year for the Philadelphia 76ers fans and it won’t get better anytime soon. On Monday, news broke that the Sixers will reportedly sign veteran forward Elton Brand to a contract and will end his retirement after six months.
If you recall, Brand played for the Sixers from 2008-2012 and when he was signed to a five-year, $82 million deal. The Sixers busted big time on the deal after Brand suffered a shoulder dislocation during the 2008-09 season and never lived up to his potential after that. He was released from the team via an amnesty clause during the Summer of 2012.
The Sixers are a young team currently, so bringing in a veteran presence makes sens. However, Brand would serve better in a coaching capacity since he announced his retirement from basketball this past summer after 16 years.
Philadelphia’s front office wants fans to “trust the process”, yet it’s hard to understand how signing a player out of retirement will help them. It’s not like they are in a bind and need an extra body in order to make the playoffs and have depth. Philadelphia won’t make the playoffs unless 10 teams get disqualified or something crazy happens.
With the signing of Brand, the Sixers are basically trolling themselves and showing the league and its fans just how much of a joke they are.
