Both the St. Louis Rams and the Oakland Raiders joined the Chargers in submitted a bid for relocation to Los Angeles

On Monday evening, the San Diego Chargers announced that they had submitted the paperwork to the NFL to relocate to Los Angeles. The team issued the announcement along with a statement as to why they made the decision to make the bid, but there were two more franchises set to follow in the Chargers’ footsteps in the St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders.

As it turns out, the Chargers, Rams, and Raiders all three submitted the application paperwork to the NFL on Monday for relocation to Los Angeles, as reported by FOX:

The fact that these three teams applied for relocation is far from surprising. As the less-than-quiet push to get an NFL team back in Los Angeles has moved along in recent years, it’s been the Chargers, Rams, and Raiders that have always been coming up in the discussions as they’ve had stadium issues in their current markets.

All three teams have Los Angeles ties in their franchise’s history, though the ties of the Rams and Raiders run much deeper than those of the Chargers, who spent only one season in L.A. back in 1960.

That being said, the Chargers are coming from the worst market in terms of fan support and stadium. It will be interesting to see which team garners the most support from the owners though as this relocation process moves forward for all three teams.
