Report: San Diego Chargers fire OC Frank Reich
After a tumultuous season, the San Diego Chargers have fired offensive coordinator Frank Reich.
The San Diego Chargers announced on Monday that they would be retaining head coach Mike McCoy and general manager Tom Telesco.
There was speculation as to whether or not the two would keep their jobs, but the Chargers are giving them another year to get things right. However, while those two are keeping their jobs with the Chargers, the organization is already making changes.
According to Michael Gehlken, the Chargers are firing offensive coordinator Frank Reich.

Reich had been with the Chargers since 2013, when he came over with then offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. When Whisenhunt left the Chargers, Reich got promoted to the offensive coordinator position, where he has been the last two seasons.
While the Chargers certainly passed for plenty of yards in 2015, they were terrible at running the football and putting points up on the board. They have major holes along the offensive line and are going to need to seriously upgrade their skill positions as well to help quarterback Philip Rivers.
Everyone will remember Reich as the quarterback who led the Buffalo Bills back from a 35-3 deficit against the Houston Oilers in the playoffs. Since 2008, he’s had multiple coaching jobs around the league and has been a fixture as an offensive coach in the way offenses have been run.
It’s clear the Chargers have plenty of things to change in all three phases of the game. They’re starting off by going in a different direction on the offensive side of the football.
