The New England Patriots received good news on the Tom Brady injury front.
Tom Brady’s injury sustained against the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 doesn’t appear to be too serious. An MRI revealed hat the injury is only a sprained ankle and that no bones were broken.
Tom Brady underwent MRI on ankle that revealed a sprain but no breaks, no fractures, per league source. Expected to be ready for playoffs.

This news will allow New England Patriots fans to exhale. Their team has faced their fair share of key players going down hurt this year. Luckily, Brady isn’t expected to miss much time as the Patriots won’t be playing in the Wild Card thanks to a first round bye.
The extra week off from playing will allow the sprain to heal. Sprains are much more manageable than a broken bone, but they are always able to be tweaked, which would delay the healing process. Brady should keep his foot ankle elevated and ice it as much as possible because the Patriots will need to bring their best performance in the second round of the playoffs.
New England won’t know who they are playing until the Wild Card round concludes this weekend. However, they got news about the thing that matters most to their playoff success. They are a much better team with Brady than they would be without him.
Hopefully for their sake, other injured and banged up players can use the bye week to improve and be better when they do play in the playoffs. The Patriots have cooled off in recent weeks, but teams shouldn’t think lightly of the Patriots because Brady always seems to step up to the occasion when the playoffs hit.
