NBA FanDuel Picks For January 5

We here at Fantasy CPR will work very hard and do everything that we can to bring you articles to prepare you and help you be successful with your bids and games at FanDuel and DraftKings just as we have with MLB and NBA. I always recommend that you do plenty of homework on your own as well as reading our articles. You will also want to make sure that you have access to your FanDuel lineup prior to kickoff in case a player is a last-minute inactive players.

Here are my FanDuel picks for January 5:

PG – Darren Collison – Collison has been a pretty solid pick with Rondo in the lineup recently, but with him considered doubtful to play tonight that should make Collison an excellent play for those in all leagues and we should expect a large bounty of fantasy points from him.

PG – J.J. Barea – Barea is a player who has been seeing a nice uptick in minutes and fantasy points thanks to an injury to Deron Williams. It seems as though Williams should miss another game tonight and even if he plays he could be gimpy and lead to another solid game for Barea.

SG – Jimmy Butler – Butler has been playing like a man on a mission lately.  His last three games have been stellar and I consider him a bargain even at the price of $8,300. In his last three he has not scored less than 40 fantasy points and he will most likely continue in that streak despite whether or not Derrick Rose suits up.

SG – Klay Thompson – Thompson is another guy who is riding a nice little three game streak. He has benefited  some from the absence of Steph Curry, but played well as Curry made his return last night.

SF – Nikola Mirotic – Mirotic has been a bit of a roller coaster lately. We just never seem to know if he is going to put up a 40 point gem or a ten point dud. He has good upside and on a night with a limited slate of games he seems like a good fit.

SF – Carmelo Anthony – I had a really tough time settling on a second SF for tonight’s lineup. This could be a position that I shake up as tonight’s inactive players are released. I like Anthony, but I am not crazy about him at this price point.

PF – Paul Millsap – Millsap has been dominant in his last four games scoring over 42 fantasy points in each of them. He is a beast and when he is hot he can tend to stay hot for a while. I like him at this price and hope that he can keep up the way that he is playing.

PF – Bobby Portis – The rookie has had his  ups and downs  and will continue to do so as he learns and adapts to the NBA. However, he has a huge dose of upside and can drop a large chunk of points on any given night. He is a bit of a gamble and may not suit your personal style, but you have to take risks to hit money in this game.

C – Greg Monroe – Monroe has been as solid as they come since joining the Bucks. He is one of the few players that you can trust on a nightly basis and I like plugging him in here and expect a solid night out of the big man.

Last night we had a decent night and landed in a little bit of money. Tonight I wish you all the same luck and even better.
