player. 31.
While the future remains to be seen for Tom Coughlin and this New York Giants coaching staff, the state of the team on the field is still the same. They have an aging quarterback paired up with the leagues most electric wide receiver and a defense that needs some more playmakers on the depth chart. The pick of Landon Collins in the second round of the 2015 draft was a good start on the defensive side, but they need more talent. Specifically up front.

Jason Pierre-Paul is clearly limited with his wrapped up hand, which does little for a pass rush that only totaled 22 sacks. That is the third worst in the NFL, certainly not what Giants fans or executives want to see.

The play of Oregon defensive end DeForest Buckner will surely give life to a staggering Giants defense. With great size and a bull rush approach to the game, Buckner will bring Giants fans back to the days of JPP, Justin Tuck, and Osi Umenyiora. A strong tackler, Buckner also provides solid support for the Giants less than mediocre run defense. At 6’7, 290 pounds, Forest may need to bulk up just a little bit to fill out his frame, but it is not something that will keep a team from drafting him.
