Taylor Decker. 18. player. 46.
The Indianapolis Colts took the wrong approach to last years offseason, drafting in the wrong spots and signing aging players. They relied too much on guys like Frank Gore, Trent Cole, Andre Johnson, and Todd Herremans going into the season when they were clearly on the decline with their old teams. The Colts also lost quarterback Andrew Luck to injury, making the season a painful one for hopeful Indianapolis fans with Super Bowl dreams. Also, drafting a wide receiver when you have plenty of depth at the position will not help you, especially when that rookie fails to perform.

After allowing 36 sacks and seeing Andrew Luck and Matthew Hasselbeck get beaten around this season, the Indianapolis Colts need to find some new offensive lineman to create much more sound protection for the quarterback. They find a big, athletic offensive tackle in Ohio State’s Taylor Decker to come in and start on day one in front of Andrew Luck.

With excellent size for the position, Decker keeps his balance and pad levels in the right spot. That can be tough for bigger lineman (no matter which side of the ball you are playing on) but he can handle it exceptionally well. While he does need to improve his run blocking technique, that is something the coaching staff in Indianapolis (whomever that may be) can work on in training camp and OTAs.

Previous Pick: Ezekiel Elliot, RB
. Offensive Tackle. Ohio State
