3. A potential LA team

Who knows which current NFL team will end up in Los Angeles. Yet, the three teams, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, and the St. Louis Rams, being considered for relocation all retained their head coach. This is good news for Tom Coughlin and those teams. Coughlin would get to enjoy and relax during the offseason when it’s the most strenuous with preseason and preparations for the season openers.

When the team in LA struggles, Coughlin can ride in like a white knight. A repeat of 2015 for either the Chargers or Rams would likely signal an end to either the Mike McCoy or Jeff Fisher eras, especially with such a big fish available.

On top of that, Coughlin does well in the big markets. He does well with the media and is candid with reporters. His time spent in the NY market would bode well for him in the LA market. Both a big media markets that would attract top reporters to their games and non-game day media appearances.

Coughlin is ready for another chance in the bright spotlight. It will be interesting to see which teams end up in Los Angeles, but no matter what Coughlin could take one over at a moment’s notice and shepherd a franchise to the playoffs.
