Five reasons the Cincinnati Bengals can win Super Bowl 50

4) The Bengals’ running game
This is an underrated part of the Bengals’ offense, and one that hasn’t been as effective as it was last year. It would’ve been hard for Jeremy Hill to exceed the expectations placed on him following his rookie season, in which he rushed for 1,124 yards and 9 touchdowns. This year, he’s actually upped his total touchdowns to 11 but his total yardage has decreased to 794.
While Hill got off to a slow start, he now has three touchdowns in his last two games. Granted, those touchdowns came against the 49ers and Ravens, but he’s a dynamic offensive weapon and he’s helped take the pressure off AJ McCarron. His total carries have increased too. In his last three games, he’s gotten 19, 19, and 16 rushing attempts respectively.
Giovani Bernard is also a dependable back that the Bengals can go to if they need someone to pick up the slack. He’s not far behind Hill in total carries – he’s gotten 223 while Bernard’s got 154 – and his yards per carry outpaces Hill at 4.7.
They may not be the most explosive running back tandem in the league, but they are dependable and a good option for when the receivers are being covered.
