Jeremy Roenick has agreed to donate $10,000 to a charity of John Scott’s choosing if Scott can break a skills competition record held by him

It’s not a popular decision by any stretch of the imagination but the fans have voted Arizona Coyotes forward John Scott into the 2016 All Star Game. Scott will serve as the Pacific Division captain. Some good might come out of it if Scott can break a skills competition record held by forward Jeremy Roenick.

Jeremy Roenick agreed on Twitter to donate $10,000 to a charity of Scott’s choosing if Scott can break his record. Roenick holds the record for hitting the four styrofoam targets in just four shots.

To give you an idea of what Scott is going up against, here’s a video of Roenick setting the record in 2004. It’s also been accomplished by Mark Messier and Raymond Bourque.

It remains to be seen what the precise details of the bet are. Does Scott only have to hit all four targets without missing no matter how much time it takes? Regardless, it’s for a good cause so hopefully Scott will make Roenick pay up.

Roenick will likely pay up regardless because John Scott is one of the most charitable players in the league.
