Jim Mora addresses potential move to NFL
By Jason Evans
Jim Mora spoke about the rumors he could be heading out of UCLA and back to the NFL.
Relax, UCLA fans. (Unless you don’t like Jim Mora as your head coach, in which case, sorry)
There are all sorts of fun rumors about people that go around this time of year. It’s a time where it seems like every coach is involved in a rumor of changing jobs. You even see hirings and firings that you didn’t see coming.
UCLA head football coach Jim Mora is no different in that respect. He’s found himself in rumors for NFL openings, but hasn’t interviewed for any of them yet and it doesn’t look like he is going to anytime soon.
UCLA finished 8-5 with their loss to Nebraska in the Foster Farms Bowl, but it doesn’t appear that Mora will be taking his talents out of L.A. Mora appeared on the Petros and Money Show in L.A. to address some of the rumors that have been going around about him.
"“I think it’s flattering not only to me, but to our program, that rumors are out there,” he said. “But at the same time, they’re just rumors.”"
While Mora may stay, the offensive coordinator position on his staff may have a opening soon. Noel Mazzone interviewed with Texas A&M and may be thinking it over.
Mora also addressed this today on the radio program.
"“There is no confirmed validity to the rumor that Noel is leaving,” Mora said. “He may, but he may not. I would hope that by the end of the day, we’ll know one way or the other.”"
Time will tell what happens with Mazzone, but it appears that Mora will be staying put right where he is in Los Angeles.
