Houston Rockets point guard Ty Lawson will be serving a suspension for a DUI in California.
It has not been a very good year for Houston Rockets point guard Ty Lawson.
He saw his replacement drafted with the Denver Nuggets, got into some legal trouble with a pair of DUI’s and he hasn’t meshed at all with his new team the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets have been rumored to be trying to find a trade partner for Lawson since it became clear that he wasn’t meshing with the team, but they have had no luck. Even worse is the fact that Lawson’s basketball skills have seemed to tank and he hasn’t been very good this year.
After already serving one suspension for a similar offense in Colorado, Lawson was suspended three games by the NBA for his offense in California.

To make matters worse for Lawson, the suspensions have taken a toll on his wallet.
Ty Lawson suspension will cost him $338k total for the 3 games suspended. Lawson already lost $225k in wages from a previous suspension.

That’s $563,000 that he has lost out on as a result of his suspension. Now while he’s making a lot more money than that this season, that is an amount of money that no one should ever be happy to lose.
The Rockets are going to have quite the time trying to find a taker for Lawson at the trade deadline, which means he could very well be waived after the season, since his contract for next season is non-guaranteed.
This isn’t a good time for Lawson and hopefully he can work on finding a new home and somewhere where he can get his life back in order.
