Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins hopes that Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters guards him on Saturday.

While the AFC Wild Card Round Game between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs isn’t getting as much attention as the other games set for the weekend, there is plenty to watch for in Saturday’s game.

The battle between Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters is going to be one of those things to watch for. Hopkins emerged as a top receiver in the league this year, while Peters in his rookie season showed that he is the real deal, as he tied for the league lead in interceptions.

The two teams met in Week 1, where the Chiefs rolled over the Texans. Things are vastly different now for both teams now, as they try to get ready for the playoffs. Hopkins in that first game between the two had a touchdown grab right over Peters.

While Peters has gone on since to steal the headlines at the cornerback spot, Hopkins is hoping that he guards him again on Sunday, according to an interview with NFL Network reporter Tiffany Blackmon.

Any time that a player calls out another player before a big game always gives that game an extra layer of hype and buzz. These two are two of the best in the league at their respective positions and it’s going to be a physical battle out on the field between the two.

Hopkins is the one calling out Peters, so he’s going to have to really step it up on the field or he will be hearing about it for a while.

No matter what happens, this game just got a whole lot more interesting.
