High Salary D
Roman Josi-Nashville Predators ($7,200): Josi continues to be one of the best blueliners available for daily fantasy hockey and has the highest salary and the highest average of fantasy points among defensemen tonight. He picked up an assist Tuesday night, giving him points in three of the last five games. Josi gets a ton of ice time, including on the power play, setting up several opportunities for him to rack up points each game.
Kevin Shattenkirk-St. Louis Blues ($6,500): Shattenkirk has proven this year to be a top two-way player as he’s racked up 25 points thus far as a defenseman. He was kept off the scoresheet in the last game but points in three of his last five games and can be a top fantasy option each night. Tonight he gets a decent matchup with the Anaheim Ducks.
High Value D
Tyson Barrie-Colorado Avalanche ($5,300): Barrie extended his point streak to two games with an assist against St. Louis on Wednesday. He’s got six points in his last four games and draws a great matchup with Nashville tonight, a team ranked 28th against opposing defenders. If you spent big elsewhere Barrie can help provide value to your lineup for a decent price.
John-Michael Liles-Carolina Hurricanes ($3,200): Liles is a deep sleeper pick tonight and should carry an extremely low ownership number, which is great for anyone that risks owning him. Liles hasn’t been the offensive force from the blue line he used to but has shown some signs of life lately. He picked up a goal in his last time on the ice and now has two points in his last four games. Take Liles on a flier tonight and hope it pays off.
