Hassan Whiteside has been through a lot in his short professional basketball career. From getting drafted in the second round by the Sacramento Kings, it took Whiteside trips to the D-League, China and Lebanon before he was able to actually catch on with an NBA team and start making an impact.

With that type of background, it isn’t surprising that Whiteside is quick to defend himself and his abilities, especially with a big contract potentially coming up this summer. Whether it is asking for his 2k rating to be raised or his defense of people questioning if his blocks are really helping the Heat be good defensively, Whiteside is always trying to make sure he is properly appreciated.

On Friday, ESPN analyst Jay Bilas posted a picture of Andrew Wiggins trying to dunk over Whiteside, and Hassan made sure that the people knew Wiggins missed the dunk.

Honestly, it is hard to blame Whiteside in this instance. With the amount of poster dunks that Wiggins has already had in his short career, it isn’t hard to believe that many people would assume Whiteside was a victim at one point. Just making sure that people know that great picture ended up resulting in a win for Hassan isn’t that bad of a gesture.
