The Ryan Johansen trade has paid immediate dividends for the Predators as he scored less than three minutes into his first game with Nashville

The Ryan Johansen trade is a trade that could go down in Nashville Predators history as the greatest trade that the Predators have ever made. The trade gives them an elite franchise center, something that the Predators haven’t had in recent years. It’s something that they need moving forward as they try to contend in a division that features Tyler Seguin, Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Koivu and Jonathan Toews.

The Predators have already began to reap the benefits of the trade as Johansen scored less than three minutes into his first game.

Colorado gave Johansen way too much room to work with there. There’s no reason to give a player like Johansen that much space to work with. Johansen made the Avalanche play and he will likely not be given that much space too often after this.

The 23-year-old center fell out of favor with the Columbus Blue Jackets but the Predators should love him. His goal is his seventh of the season and his 27th point of the season. He has played in 39 games.

Johansen already seems to be playing a far more active role in the Predators offense than he did in the Blue Jackets offense this season.

Time will tell if Ryan Johansen can be the missing piece of the Predators puzzle as they try to bring home the first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
