No. 9 Kentucky Wildcats vs Alabama Crimson Tide
Starting the season as the No. 1 team in the country, the Kentucky Wildcats no longer look unbeatable despite having one of the most impressive recruiting classes in the country. Every season, John Calipari puts together top-notch classes and each season his teams are either unbeatable or disappointing, there’s rarely ever a team in the middle of those two.

However, the Wildcats have a chance to prove that they’re the class of the SEC by dominating the rest of their schedule. Jamal Murray is having a fantastic freshman season at guard, leading the team with 17.1 points per game. Tyler Ulis has been the “veteran” presence, leading the team with 5.9 assists while scoring 14.2 points per game.
Alabama is known more for its football, but the Crimson Tide are trying to prove that they can play basketball, too, with Avery Johnson at head coach. The Crimson Tide started the season just 2-2, but have won seven of nine games and have a realistic chance to make it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 2011-12.
After an SEC-opening loss to Ole Miss, the Crimson Tide will be looking to pull off a major upset against Kentucky at home — a realistic feat which could be pulled off on an unsuspecting Kentucky team. Senior guard Retin Obasohan is having a breakout year, leading the Tide in scoring with 14.2 points per game.
