After nearly dying, former NBA forward Lamar Odom has been released from the hospital and moved to a private facility.

There’s been some good news off the court in the NBA. Former NBA star Lamar Odom, who had been in a hospital for three months after an incident at a brothel left him in critical condition, has made enough progress to be released from the hospital.

A family spokesman has said that Odom will be moved to a private facility, where he will continue to get further treatment.

"Odom, a former Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers star, has entered a specialized facility in Los Angeles after being transported from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near Beverly Hills. Family spokeswoman Alvina Alston said Friday that Odom was released from the hospital earlier in the week.Alston said Odom’s family is proud of what it has termed his “miraculous and continued improvement” but isn’t providing details of his condition."

After suffering a stroke, Odom still has a tremendous battle in front of him, but the good news for Odom and his family is that he has made enough progress to be able to leave the hospital.

When news of Odom’s condition first broke, there was a tremendous outpouring of support from around the league and his former teammate Kobe Bryant left a game early to rush to his friend’s bedside.

Now he will begin the next step of his journey and will hopefully continue to make great progress like he has over the last three months.
