Fantasy Basketball: Should You Pick Up Donald Sloan

The Brooklyn Nets have been in a bit of disarray at the point guard position even since Jarrett Jack went down with in injury the first part of the year. He had now been ruled out for the rest of the season and Shane Larkin who has been filling in as the starting PG has not been playing very well. Enter Donald Sloan who had been playing well as the backup to Larkin who started the second half on the ninth against the Pistons and finished the game with 15 points, 10 assists and two rebounds.

Donald Sloan managed to put those numbers together in just a mere 24 minutes and should be able to, at the very minimum, see a timeshare at the PG position. One would think that he will likely take over as the starter. With the numbers that he put up I would be well on my way to adding Sloan in every league that I have. I also believe that Sloan should be a great play in daily leagues as well until FanDuel raises his price.

Basically I think that there is certainly enough reason to pick up Sloan if you have someone who you can dump. I think that there is a good chance that Sloan can take this job and run with it, but even if he doesn’t he should be good for a few more games.

Aaron Gordon has been playing pretty well and had a nice double-double on the ninth. He makes for an interesting pick-up in leagues where he is available and could wind up with an increase in playing time and be a force to be reckoned with down the stretch of this season.

Bobby Portis is another player that I believe is too talented to stay on the sidelines for the Bulls for too long. The Bulls front office is going to have to look long and hard at moving Taj Gibson or possibly Joakim Noah and getting the youngster as many minutes as possible.

Kelly Olynyk has been playing well and has scored in double digits in two of his last three games. He has been starting over Jared Sullinger and if he continues to play the way that he has he is a good bet to remain in the starting lineup. I would pick him up and see if he can keep it up.
