32. <p>The Arizona Cardinals aren’t a team built for long-term success, as their an atheist’s dream team to root for. They know that they’re going to die in the near future and that the team isn’t kicking off a dynasty. Bruce Arians isn’t coaching for his next job, he knows this is his last job ever — and ditto for Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald. Even if they win the Super Bowl, they are very aware that they could be a one-and-done winner, but they have no fear of the unknown abyss that lies ahead of them beyond this season.</p> <p>Arizona is living in the here and now, not concerned about what lies beyond this year’s postseason. It’s about as existential as it gets, but there’s nothing wrong with that at all.</p> <p>The Cardinals are maybe the best team in the NFL right now, because they fight with that ‘no tomorrow’ attitude without reveling in the cliche that it presents. Instead, they play for today because they know they’re better than everyone they play and that’s what makes them dangerous. They’re not cocky, they’re not showboatish and they’re a dominating force on both sides of the ball. Carolina’s flash in the pan season earned them a No. 1 seed, but the Cardinals have been the best team in the NFC since they stepped foot on the field Week 1. </p>. (13-3).
